About The workshop & Melissa:
My name is Melissa and I am beginning a project in order to stop bullying through presenting a workshop to various audiences:
Main Goal of Steps to Stop Bullying:
With Steps to Stop Bullying, Students, Parents and Teachers can gain insight about the effects of Bullying and the pervasiveness of it in today’s society. The main goal is to focus on the needs of those affected by the detrimental outcomes of bullying. It is important to find the resources necessary to put in place to help assist and educate those who are being bullied, as well as, those who are close to the individual/group affected by bullying.
Steps to Stop Bullying is a new beginning to those affected by bullying; who can use a unique approach to make a change. The purpose of this workshop is to provide insight about the effects of bullying behaviour and how to make a positive change. BE BRAVE!
1st step: (Breathing) involves the participants completing a breathing exercise.
2nd step: (Rest) Allowing time to just be in silence
3rd step: (Affirmations) to complete a cards of kindness exercise
4th step: (Visualize) to draw a visual picture of the scenario
5th step: (Exercise) to think of a solution to the problem and putting ideas into practice.
Before any steps are completed the presenter will have the participants complete an assent or consent form.
Debrief and answer any question the participant has as well as have the participant complete a feedback form.
Workshop Goals:
1. To provide (current) information about the topic of Bullying through various approaches.
2. To involve the participants in the workshop activities and provide strategies and techniques.
3. To give the group information about bullying which they can put forth in their daily encounters.
4. To educate others on the topic of bullying so they can speak up about the issue.
5. To hear their perspectives on the topic of bullying.
